Be Happy

sparrow

I thought living with integrity would make me happy. But so far I’m not perfect, and so it seems happiness is not yet mine. There’s always something missing, something to strive for, something new to learn. When will the happiness arrive?

Now I know – it’s right here, right now. My life and I are not perfect, but who’s to judge? I am Nature, and Nature simply is. My consciousness wants to place judgment when there’s none to be found. Happiness is an emotional experience, one that I can call mine right here, right now.

What a lovely and deeply personal post. I’m sure you’ll find a way to see the happiness despite the judgement and striving for more. There is happiness even within those two actions!

“Don’t worry…..Be Happy……..” Bobby McFerrin comes to mind.

I love “Life is Good” motto….”Like what you do and do what you like” It’s not LOVE, but Like. In fact, their company name reflects the true state of how life is…..Good, not Great but Good. I think “Great” puts either too much pressure or says it with insincerity.

And I agree with them in that yes, we should strive to do great things but when we are happy with being good, that’s great enough for me. (no pun intended)

I can happiness in being good all the time – not great or perfect sometimes and not so great in other times.

Awesome, I love your take on this. You are so right – Like what you do and do what you like. Good, not great. And Good is Great!! Hahahahaha I love it. The mind is such a fickle thing.

  3. Love the short, potent post. I find the greatest happiness comes from not clinging to happiness. Just being here in the present moment.

Thanks! I appreciate your perspective. I do try to be in the present moment, which is not always comforting. Learning to let go of my roller coaster of emotions helps, knowing that all emotions are transitory. Your two simple sentences have provided me with much food for thought, thank you. :)

  4. What a powerful post Lynn. Happiness is a state of mind that is available for the taking whenever we want it. Living in the present sounds so simple, yet it’s takes constant practice-and that is where happiness lies. Your honesty and sincerity make me smile.

Thanks, Lori!! Being in the present moment is easy sometimes, and totally impossible in other situations. It’s definitely an ongoing practice. Staying centered despite what chaos is around me also helps, but again, at times challenging.
